Misty gave birth to twin bucks sired by Diablo

Both boys were delivered relatively easy and were named Turk (on the right) and JD (on the left).  They were both wethered and Turk was taken to the Wells County 4-H Fair.  He was just too little to place very high but was sold in the livestock auction.  JD currently is a companion to another wether owned by our niece, Brooke.  Misty was an easy milker and once we got her going she gave about a quart a day (a.m.) and then had her babies all day.  Once the boys were weaned she continued with her high milk output until we ran out of 3rd cutting alfalfa and had to go to 2nd - then she just decided she was going to dry up - must not have liked the 2nd cutting.  Can't wait to see what she does next time.

38° and Rainy

It's Twins - one buck, one doe - sired by Toby!  About 5:30 this afternoon she finally (waited on her all day) gave birth to these two little sweethearts.  Had to spend a lot of time in the barn today as it was raining.  Kind of hard to hear in the baby monitor with the rain hitting on the tin roof right above it.  The little girl (on the left) will be staying here and the little buck (on the right) will be wethered and is already sold for a 4-H project.

Twins again - Buck & Doe - look a lot like the last ones.  The Buck is lighter than the doe.  Course they were sired by Toby again - so maybe that's why they look like last year's kids.  That's okay - they were gorgeous and so are these two.
